Privacy Policy of Stake Australia

This Privacy Policy explains how Stake Australia handles data when people read the site. The site has no registration, no player accounts and no payment forms, so it collects far less information than a gambling operator. Data entered on stake.com is handled by the operator under its own privacy policy.

What Data the Site Collects

Visitors do not need to create an account or submit personal details to read the site. When a page is opened, the server and analytics tools may record technical data:

  • IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed, time spent on them and the referring page;
  • the time of the visit and clicks on outgoing buttons.

The site does not ask for names, document numbers, payment card details or crypto wallet addresses, and such information should never be sent to it.

How the Data Is Used

Technical data is used to keep the site running and secure, measure traffic, find broken pages and understand which pages readers find useful. Reports are produced in aggregated form. The data is not sold and is not used to make automated decisions about any person.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files that a browser stores on a device. The site may use three kinds of cookies:

  • necessary cookies that make pages load correctly and remember basic settings;
  • analytics cookies from third-party analytics services, which count visits and show how readers move through the site;
  • partner cookies set when a visitor follows a link to stake.com, which let the partner programme attribute a registration.

Cookies can be blocked or deleted in the browser settings. The site still works without them, although some statistics will not be recorded.

How the Operator Handles Player Data

Everything entered after leaving this site is controlled by the operator of stake.com, Medium Rare N.V., under its own privacy policy. When an account is opened, the operator processes data such as the email address, username, login and transaction history and, during verification, identity documents, proof of address and proof of source of income.

According to the operator’s Help Center, full account deletion is not possible because regulations require certain data to be kept; an account can be closed instead, which also stops marketing emails. Questions about data held by Stake go to its support team at support@stake.com.

Data Retention and Security

Technical data is kept only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or kept in aggregated form that no longer identifies a device. The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to its administration is limited to the people who maintain it.

Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, people can ask to access personal information held about them and to have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Similar rights exist under other laws, such as the GDPR in Europe. Because the site has no accounts, in most cases it holds no data that identifies a visitor by name.

Complaints about how personal information is handled in Australia can be raised with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Age Restriction

The site is intended for adults aged 18 and over and does not knowingly collect information from minors. Parents who share devices with children can use parental control and blocking software to keep gambling sites out of reach.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the site, its tools or the law change. The version published on this page applies from the moment it is posted.
